1. Maria

Age: 12-year-old
Reason for admission: Abandonment.
Background: Her biological mother abandoned her, and the reason is unknown.
She was initially taken in by another family, but unfortunately, she experienced physical and emotional abuse while in their care. As a result, she was placed in the child protection system, where she could receive the care, safety, and support she needed.
2. Candelaria

Date of Birth: December 12, 2019
This date is estimated, as no birth certificate was found in the National Registry of Persons system.
Age: Approximately 6 years old
Reason for Admission: Abandonment.
Background: Her parents struggle with alcohol and were unable to provide the care and stability she needed.
An uncle was considered as a possible caregiver, but he was unable to take responsibility because of his own struggles with alcohol. As a result, she and her younger sister, Rosmeri, continue to receive care and protection at the home.
3. Rosmeri

Date of Birth: January 9, 2023
Age: 3-year-old
Reason for admission: Abandonment.
Background: Her parents struggle with alcohol and were unable to provide the care and stability she needed.
At the most recent hearing, an uncle was unable to take responsibility for the girls' care, as the family continues to face challenges related to alcohol use. As a result, Rosmeri and her older sister, Candelaria, continue to receive care and protection at the home.
4. Catarina

Date of Birth: November 12, 2014.
Age: 11-year-old
Reason for admission: Abandonment.
Background: She was in a state of streeting, the mother is an alcoholic which several of her siblings were institutionalized with her.
The reintegration of the family bond with his sister Hermelinda has been an ambiguous relationship and sometimes with rivalries.
5. Gerson

Date of Birth: Octuber 28, 2018.
Age: 7-year-old
Reason for admission: Abandonment.
Background: She was in a state of streeting, the mother is an alcoholic which several of her siblings were institutionalized with her.
The reintegration of the family bond with his sister Hermelinda has been an ambiguous relationship and sometimes with rivalries.
6. Hermelinda

Date of Birth: April 21, 2012.
Age: 14-year-old
Reason for Admission:
Physical and psychological abuse.

Background: The teenager was living on the streets and supported herself by selling candy on the street. Her mother has a history of alcohol use.
The mother reportedly had difficulty controlling her impulses, and during one incident, she physically assaulted the teenager with such force that the teenager required hospitalization.
7. Israel

Date of Birth: December 23, 2023
Age: 2-year-old
Reason for Admission: Abandonment.
Background: The boy was taken into care along with his siblings due to family neglect. They had been living on the streets, and their mother has problems with alcohol.
The mother also has another young child who is not in institutional care and has the same name as this child, but there is no further information available about him.

Date of Birth: September 25, 2023
Age: 2-year-old
Reason for Admission: Abandonment.
Background: The reason for entering institutional care was due to abuse and neglect.
As part of the process of exhausting available family resources, the children were eventually declared adoptable along with their siblings, Luis and Yamileth.

Date of Birth: August 21, 2016
Age: 10-year-old
Type of Abuse: Abandonment.
Background: The reason for admission was abandonment. Since no family resource was identified, he was declared adoptable on July 4, 2025.
He was previously in the care of a community resource under supervision. As part of the family reunification process, he was admitted to the Home so that he could remain close to his family and maintain his sibling bond.

Age: 6 years old
Reason for Admission: Abandonment.
Background: She entered the care system because her mother has problems with alcohol and was not able to provide her with the care and attention she needed.
Yamileth and her two siblings were declared adoptable.
11. Ean

Date of Birth: September 8, 2015
Age: 11 years old
Reason for Admission: Abandonment and mistreatment.
Background: The child was placed in institutional care at two months old due to family neglect. His mother has problems with alcohol, and her whereabouts are unknown.
At age seven, he went to live with his paternal aunt and uncle, where he stayed for approximately four years. Due to repeated theft, reported mistreatment, and lack of adequate supervision, he ran away from the home and was found by police.

Age: 10 years old
Reason for Admission:
Physical abuse and abandonment.
Background: The child has experienced significant neglect and physical abuse. He reports being mistreated by his stepmother and has scars and injuries consistent with his reported history of abuse. He also reported experiencing sexual abuse and has shown emotional and behavioral difficulties related to his traumatic experiences.
He has limited information about his family and believes his mother may have died, although this has not been confirmed.

Reason for Admission: Abandonment.

Background: Her parents have problems with alcohol and were unable to provide adequate care. She was initially placed with an aunt, but the placement ended after her biological father caused problems at the home.
She was then placed in a children’s home and later transferred to the orphanage to be with her siblings, Luis and Andrés, and maintain their sibling bond.

Abandonment.

Background: The child entered the protection system due to abandonment. His parents have problems with alcohol.
He is currently living with his younger siblings, Juana Noemi and Andrés, as part of their sibling reunification.
15. Andrés

Date of Birth: October 20, 2019
Age: 6 years old
Reason for Admission:
Abandonment.
Background: The child entered the protection system due to family abandonment. Both parents have problems with alcohol and were unable to provide adequate care.
As a protective measure due to neglect, the child was placed in the Home. Her sister, Juana Noemi and his brother Luisito, was later transferred from another Home to support their sibling reunification.

Age: 10 years old
Reason for Admission: Abandonment.
Background: The girl entered the protection system because her mother struggles with alcohol abuse and her father abandoned the family.
She reports that she is the half-sister of Rocío and Ana Julia and that her father separated from her mother.
No suitable family resources have been identified.
17. Cecilia

Date of Birth: June 15, 2015.
Age: 11 years old.
Reason for admission: Abandonment.
Background: The girl entered the protection system due to sexual abuse by her stepfather. She was admitted to the Home along with her younger siblings, Eliseo and Cecilia, as a protective measure due to neglect and lack of adequate care.
She regularly communicates with a maternal aunt through video calls. Her mother currently lives abroad with her other daughters, who have also reported experiencing sexual abuse and remained silent because they were afraid.
18. Claudia

Date of Birth: December 25, 2020
Age: 5 years old
Reason for Admission: Abandonment.
Background: The girl entered the protection system due to abuse by her stepfather, who is listed as her father on her birth certificate. She was admitted to the Home along with her siblings, Eliseo and Cecilia, as a protective measure due to neglect and lack of adequate care.
She regularly communicates with a maternal aunt through video calls. Her mother currently lives abroad with her other daughters.
19. Eliseo

Date of Birth: September 15, 2017
Age: 9 years old
Reason for Admission: Abandonment.
Background: The child entered the protection system due to family neglect. She was placed in care as a protective measure because her sister, Cecilia, was a victim of abuse, in order to safeguard their well-being and prevent further abuse.
She has been in institutional care since February 2026, along with her sisters, Cecilia and Claudia.

Reason for Admission: Abandonment.
Background: The girl entered the protection system due to her mother’s problems with alcohol. There is no further information available about her biological mother.
When she first arrived, she was quiet and reserved and had difficulty starting conversations.
21. Rocio

Age: Approximately 4 years old
Reason for Admission: Abandoment.
Background: Her mother has problems with alcohol, and her father abandoned the family.
When she arrived, she was quiet, isolated, and had difficulty speaking. She also had frequent crying episodes and tantrums. She has since made progress and is now a happy and more social child who interacts with her peers and communicates more clearly.
